Snow White & The Huntsman Themed Halloween Party

Halloween is obviously my favorite holiday. We have started an annual Tatton Halloween party tradition, and every year it just keeps getting better and better. I throw two parties on two different weekends. One with the family and one with the friends.

In order to have a successful party you have to make it a night your guests will never forget, and that is always my goal. Here's what you need for an unforgettable party- Exciting Unique Invitations, Party Theme, Perfect Costumes, Over The Top Decor, Fun Activities, And Lots of Creative Food & Drinks.

Exciting Unique Invitations: Unfortunately I hadn't thought of my theme before I made my invitations. You typically want them to go with your theme. You're invitations are one of the most important things to do in order to have a successful party. It sets the stage for what kind of party you're having. If I would have thought of my theme before I made my invites I probably would have gone with something like a Poisoned Apple or a Mirror. But I still LOVE my invites, they were so awesome and i got a lot of compliments on them. People like exciting things they get to eat or decorate with. Not just boring paper. The other important part of invitations is getting you're invitations out in a timely manner. I always try to get my invites out or at least tell them my date of the party by October 1st. That way I call dibs on that date before anyone else does and so that they have time to arrange their schedules to attend. Always ask them to RSVP in a timely manner so you know how many people to expect a couple weeks before the party. I usually invite almost double the amount I would like to come because a lot of people cancel last minute or can't attend. (Make sure you will have enough room if they do all decide to show up)

You can request to get invitations like this engraved on wood or something similar from http://www.etsy.com/shop/NebulousHorizon?ref=search_shop_redirect

Party Theme: For the theme of my parties I try to come up with whatever is popular at the time. This year there has been so many Snow White movies and TV shows for example- Mirror Mirror, Once Upon A Time, Grimms Snow White, Enchanted, Snow White A Deadly Summer, The Original Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs diamond edition. And then there's Snow White & The Huntsman a more dark side of the tale.

Next year... Vampire theme!

Perfect Costumes: You obviously want your costumes to go along with your party. If you're the host, you better go all out! Queen Ravenna was an obvious choice for me. I like to dress up as characters that are evil and crazy but at the same time pretty. I love Charlize Theron, I think she's beautiful and a great actress unlike some of the other characters in the movie. (I think we all know who I'm talking about) And my husband never wants to be a sissy for Halloween so the Huntsman was perfect for him.

Our Mirror Mirror. This was a big hit at the party! It was actually pretty easy to make we got gold silk fabric from JoAnnes and put a head armor from the dollar store through it and hung it to the ceiling. Then we pinned it back to make it look like he had shoulders. This was a great photography prop!

Fun Activities: If you're going to throw a big party you better have something to do! In the past I've done a dinner party with a four course meal. That was a lot of fun and delicious! But it's hard to plan for how many  people because I had half my party cancel the day of my party last year. I was not a happy camper having spent all that money on food and the dining room hotel rental. Luckily my friends here in St. George are reliable and I didn't have that problem. But I learned my lesson last year and decided to make dinner simple and have a big candy bar and white chili for one party and pizza for the other. This years entertainment I bought a game call AtmosFEAR. It was kinda pricey but well worth the money!

You can get this game new on amazon for around $70 or used for around $55
